adéesʼeez ‎(“someone takes a step”), from -lʼéés ‎(imperfective stem, take a step), from -l- ‎(classifier) + -ʼeez ‎(perfective stem, act with the foot, move the feet), from Proto-Athabaskan *ʼe̓dz, from Pre-Proto-Athabaskan *ʼeʼdz ‎(“act with the foot”).
