Dialectal; from Proto-Albanian *aukn-, from Proto-Indo-European *h2euk(w)-sno- 'pot', *aukw- (“cooking pot”), *Hukʷ-. Cognate to Gothic auhns (auhns, “oven”) and Sanskrit उखा (ukhā, “pot”). Cf. also English oven.
