Etymology

Either from anë + tej (cf. këndej, përtej) or from Proto-Indo-European *h₂entíos 'end'. Compare Armenian and ‎(and, “there”), Gothic and ‎(and, “up there, about there”), anda- ‎(anda-, “against, opposite”).
