Usage notes
- ‟Linen” as a fabric is usually called Leinen in German. A Linnen is a ‟cloth of linen”, particularly in the plural where Leinen is undistinguishable from the plural of Leine (“line”). Linnen is a literary term, however. A more general word would be Leinentuch (pl. -tücher).
