Etymology
One of the proposed etymologies is that it derives from the Greek term "ololizin" [1]. It has also been suggested that it comes from an Arabic invocation of Allah, or the oath والله (w-állah, “by Allah!”). However, there is an evident disagreement about this hypothesis[2][3].
