Etymology
From Proto-Albanian*raðā, from Proto-Indo-European*Hreh₁dʰ-(“to arrange”), hence Old Norseráða, Germanraten(“to advise; guess”). Alternatively related to rrethwheel, close to Germanic *raðo row (cf. Old Norse rǫð(“row”), Middle Low German gerade(“growing straight upwards”)), also connected to *rathan wheel[1].
