Usage notes
- Usually tajs (rare, usually found in its genitive plural form taju, used as an adjective), tajietis, tajiete and tajisks refer to the Thai people as an ethnic group, while taizemietis, taizemiete, taizemisks refer to citizens of Thailand, including those who are not ethnically Thai.
- English “Thai” as an attributive adjective usually corresponds in Latvian to taju, tajiešu or taizemiešu, the genitive plural forms of tajs, tajietis and taizemietis. The adjectives tajisks and taizemisks are commonly used predicatively (“this is Thai”), or in their adverbial forms tajiski, taizemiski.
