Navajo

Verb

yiʼash

  1. he/she is going along (with another person, as part of a pair); they (a pair of people) are going along

Usage notes

The stem used for going in pairs is different from the stem used for going individually or in groups. For movement as individuals, see yigááł; for movement in groups of three or more, see yikah. Singular forms with this verb, such as yishʼash, are still possible, as they refer to a single person's involvement in pairwise movement.

This is a progressive verb; it is conjugated only in the progressive mode.

PROGRESSIVE singular duoplural plural
