From Proto-Slavic *kъrzьno. Cognate with Russian корзно (korzno, “fur coat”), dialectal Bulgarian кръзна (krǎzna, “grime on the skin”), Slovenian krzno. The Slavic word was loaned from an Eastern language, compare Ossetian кӕрц (kærc, “fur coat”). German Kürschner (“furrier”) is of Slavic origin.
