Verb

հասանեմ • ‎(hasanem)  (aorist indicative հասի)

1. to arrive at, to reach

   հասանել ի ցամաք‎ ― hasanel i cʿamakʿ ― to disembark, to land, to arrive

   հասեալ ժամ‎ ― haseal žam ― present

2. to catch, to take, to surprise

   հասանել ի վերայ‎ ― hasanel i veray ― to penetrate, to break into

   յեղակարծում, յանակնկալս ի վերայ հասանել‎ ― yełakarcum, yanaknkals i veray hasanel ― to surprise, to catch; to overtake, to come on like a thunderclap

   հասանել զքաղաքաւ‎ ― hasanel zkʿałakʿaw ― to assault the city

   գուցէ հասանիցէ քեզ անձրեւ‎ ― gucʿē hasanicʿē kʿez anjrew ― lest the rain should surprise you

3. to get, to obtain, to gain

   հասանել ի պաշտօն‎ ― hasanel i paštōn ― to obtain, to get hold of a place or post

   ի պատիւ հասանել‎ ― i patiw hasanel ― to rise to dignities, to be promoted to high rank

   հասանել ի վերայ իրաց աշխարհին‎ ― hasanel i veray iracʿ ašxarhin ― to assume the direction of, to take in hand public affairs

4. to be destined, allotted or obliged to

   եթէ զնա ոչ հասանէ ինձ տեսանել‎ ― etʿē zna očʿ hasanē inj tesanel ― if I should not happen to see him

   թէեւ մեռանել ինձ հասանիցէ ընդ քեզ‎ ― tʿēew meṙanel inj hasanicʿē ənd kʿez ― even were I to die with thee

   հասանէ քեզ դարձեալ մարգարէանալ‎ ― hasanē kʿez darjeal margarēanal ― you must prophesy anew

5. to ripen, to become ripe

   հասանել վիրաց‎ ― hasanel viracʿ ― (of a furuncle) to draw to a head, to gather

   ծերացեալ հասեալ յարս‎ ― ceracʿeal haseal yars ― old, among the elders

6. to understand

   հասանել ի վերայ‎ ― hasanel i veray ― to comprehend, to conceive, to understand, to apprehend, to catch at
