   • 800 BCE – 600 BCE, Homer, Iliad 1.469, (this line repeated many times: Iliad 2.432, etc.; Odyssey 1.150, 3.67, etc.)

     αὐτὰρ ἐπεὶ πόσιος καὶ ἐδητύος ἐξ ἔρον ἕντο

     But when they had put away their desire for drink and food [or drinking and eating]
