2. if; no matter ...

   해도 되고 안 해도 되고.‎

   Haedo doego an haedo doego.

   It doesn't matter if you do it or not.

3. emphasizes the extent

   여기는 사람이 많아도 너무 많다.‎

   Yeogineun sarami manado neomu manta.

   The people here are too many.

Usage notes

The suffix 아도 (ado) / 어도 (eodo) takes the infinitive forms.

Synonyms

• 더라도 (deorado)
• ㄹ지라도 (ㄹjirado)
• 라도 (rado): for 이다 (ida, “to be”) and 아니다 (anida, “not to be”)

  The forms 이어도 (여도) (ieodo (yeodo)) and 아니어도 (anieodo) are also possible.
