2. if; no matter

   Mwol haedo yeppeuda.

   She's pretty whatever she does.

3. emphasizes the extent

   매워도 매워도 이렇게 매울 줄은!‎

   Maewodo maewodo ireoke mae-ul jureun!

   Didn't know it was hot this much!

Usage notes

The suffix 아도 (ado) / 어도 (eodo) takes the infinitive forms.

Synonyms

• 더라도 (deorado)
• ㄹ지라도 (ㄹjirado)
• 라도 (rado): for 이다 (ida, “to be”) and 아니다 (anida, “not to be”)

  The forms 이어도 (여도) (ieodo (yeodo)) and 아니어도 (anieodo) are also possible.
