Usage notes

• The form у ‎(u) and ў ‎(ŭ) are used interchangeably and are considered the same word but are different in spelling and pronunciation. Like other Belarusian words, words starting with "у" + consonant are used after consonants or at the beginning of a clause, words starting with "ў" + consonant are used after vowels.
