   У меня́ нет книг. (U menjá net knig.) — “I have no books.” (literally, “There are no books with me.”)

   Его́ нет. (Jevó net.) — “He’s not here.” (literally, “There is no him [here].”)

Usage notes

The past tense of нет ‎(net) is не́ было ‎(né bylo), and the future tense is не бу́дет ‎(ne búdet).
