չ- (č-)

1. negative particle appended to the verb to form the negative conjugation of all moods, except the imperative mood

   սիրել ‎(sirel) (sirel) — to like

   չսիրել (čsirel) — not to like

   գրեցի ‎(grecʿi) (grec'i) — I wrote

   չգրեցի (čgrec'i) — I did not write

2. A negative prefix, appended to some verb roots.

   բերել (berel) — to bring

   չբեր (čber) — barren

Usage notes

As a negative prefix (sense 2) this is not productive anymore.
