   • a. 400 BCE, Exodus 31:17:

     בֵּינִי וּבֵין בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אוֹת הִוא לְעֹלָם […]

     beiní uvéin b'néi yisra'él 'ot hi l'olám […]

Usage notes

• A variety of terms may separate the two elements introduced by בין. The most common is probably ל־ ‎(l'-, “to”) — as in, bein X l'-Y — but the above quotations also demonstrate ובין ‎(uvéin, “and between”) and עד ‎(ad, “until”), and לבין ‎(l'véin, “to between”) and ו־ ‎(v'-, “and”) exist as well.
