   tā bija Zintra; mirkli šaubījies, piegāju viņai klāt: “labvakar”, es teicu; “labvakar”, viņa atņēma sveicienu un pasmaidīja‎ ― it was Zintra; after hesitating for a moment, I went to her: “good evening,” I said; “good evening,” she received the greeting and smiled

   viņa ienāca gaišā vasaras kleitā un pateica vienkārši “labvakar”‎ ― she came in a light summer dress and said simply “good evening”

There is a full form (labs vakars!), no longer in actual usage but still found in older literature.
